Whitby Manlift Training - Different manlift training programs consist of the content and review of manlift devices. An essential part of the program is the practicum where students show their practical ability and knowledge to operate the manlift safely. A prerequisite to Manlift training is the fall protection training, that could be included in the training according to the specific needs of the client.

Course Content
The course includes the following areas of instruction: pre-shift machine check and work area survey requirements; the impact of performing unsafe acts or operating unsafe equipment, Lifting device equipment definitions, Review of load capabilities, safety decals and specific equipment requirements, Review of related parts of the OSHA Standards and the CSA Standards and Review site specific Hazards, together with controls for safely utilizing a lifting device.

Demonstration and Evaluation Content
The evaluation and demonstration portion of the program consists of: Proper personal protective equipment or also known as P.P.E. as required; Using a signaler or a spotter when needed; Utilizing a correct fitting harness or fall arrest devise; Operating a lift just on level and solid ground; Operating the lift with all other employees clear of the job site; Aware of load limitations etc. and other specs as set out by the manufacturer; Pre-shift work area survey and machine check; Having all associated machines stored safely on the lift platform; Ensuring a safe and smooth operating speed for various plant conditions and isolating off the work area when major work projects are to be completed.

Every person will be tested to make certain they can safely and efficiently operate your site-specific equipment.

Manlift Safety
As the manlift is capable of lifting materials and personnel more than 20 feet in the air, these equipment pose a particular amount of risk and could be dangerous machines if not operated properly. If you are buying a second-hand lift, it is important to make certain that the instruction booklet is included and that important decals haven't been painted over. The restraints that prevent operators from falling and the guardrails are other important safety features. These are standard and mandatory on all kinds of lifts.
